Laszlo Zsolnai gave a lecture on “Human Reason in the Age of Economic Unreason” at the “Teleology and Reason in Economic Affairs” international conference at the Las Casas Institute, Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford in June 30-July 1, 2014.

Based on the conception of Amartya Sen, Zsolnai argued that the requirements of human reason are much broader than that of economic rationality. Human reason demands the inclusion of ecological sustainability, the interests of future generations, and the weelbeing of society in the goal function of economic actors.
